On Saturday the 7th and 8th grade girls traveled to Tipton to compete in the MIC tournament. The 7th grade team started the morning off against Logansport. They were aggressive on defense holding the Berries to 2 points in the first half. In the third quarter they came out strong and held Logansport to 5 points in the 2nd half! The girls got the win and found themselves in the final game against the Panthers of Western. In the championship game they struggled to find the basket in the first half. The ladies came out strong in the 3rd quarter and located the basket scoring 12 points in the quarter. In the end this wasn't enough to overcome their deficit and left as MIC runner ups. We are proud of the girls for continuing to battle and not giving up. The 8th grade team battled a Kokomo team that loved the 3-pointer in the Semi-final game. The team was not victorious on the scoreboard but the coaches were very proud of their effort, determination and sticking to the defensive plan due to our circumstances. The did not let adversity determine their play, they stayed focused and battle the entire game. This week will be a busy week for the teams as they are home Monday, at Kokomo Tuesday and home on Thursday. Good Luck ladies!
