The 7th Grade Huskies had an incredible weekend of basketball in the MIC Tournament! Semifinal Victory: On Saturday, the Huskies faced Logansport for the second time in just seven days. This time, they came out on top with a 34-30 win! After jumping out to a quick start and building a 21-6 halftime lead, the Huskies hit a rough patch in the third quarter, allowing the Berries to close the gap. But a few clutch defensive stops late in the game turned into key layups, sealing the victory and punching their ticket to the championship game. Offensive Leaders were Colton Fite, Chance Yagelski, and Graysen Cherry. Championship Game: In the Finals, the Huskies faced a tough Western team in another great matchup. Both squads played intense defense, and Western held a slim 1-point lead at halftime. The battle continued through the fourth quarter, but Western managed to pull ahead late, taking the win 42-35. Despite the loss, the Huskies showed incredible heart and highlights. Khaleb Bandawal, Colton Fite, and Benji Girolamo led the offense with 11 points each, combining for 8 three-pointers in the game! What a tournament run for our Huskies—full of grit, teamwork, and Husky pride!
