By Bob Letsinger | Dec 8, 2025 1:48 PM

On Saturday morning, the 8th grade boys basketball team went on a road trip to take on the Logansport Berries. The Dawgs got off the bus and was ready to play some defense. The Berries were not able to handle the ball pressure applied by the Huskies, which resulted in a 16 - 7 lead for the visitors after the first quarter. The Dawgs continued applying the full court defense and went on a 22 - 1 run in the second quarter to take a comfortable 38 - 8 lead at halftime. Heights held the Berries to only four points in the second half resulting in a final score of 56 - 12. It was a total team effort by the Huskies, as all 14 players made defensive contributions holding their opponent to only five points for the final three quarters of the game. Special mention to Carter Berndt for holding down the opponent's best player to only 2 points and fouling him out at the beginning of the third quarter. Offensively, Royce Bowyer was the leading scorer and played his best game of the season. Vince Kakasuleff played a nice offensive game and had nine points for the Huskies. The 8th grade team will be back in action on Tuesday night @ 5:30 hosting the Fishers Tigers.
