Hamilton Heights Middle School Athletics

On Tuesday night, the 8th grade boys basketball team played their home opener versus the Western Panthers. The Huskies got off to a good start with some solid defense holding the visitors to only 2 baskets in the first period. The Dawgs had an early 13 – 5 lead. The stifling defense held the visitors to only 5 points in the second quarter giving the Huskies a 27 – 10 lead at halftime. The Dawgs sealed the victory with a 14 – 3 run in the fourth quarter resulting in a final score of 52 – 24. Offensively, the Huskies were led by Cooper Ballenger, whom had a big night hitting 8 three pointers. Defensively, Royce Bowyer & Cooper Hensley brought a strong effort and made multiple hustle plays to energize the team and crowd. Great effort by the team tonight!
